ChordCam terms of use
These terms are between you and flamedots, an independent studio run by one person, and cover your use of ChordCam ("the app"). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please uninstall it.
The app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. The app, its design, code and text belong to flamedots or its licensors, apart from the open-source parts listed in the app's licences page, which are under their own licences.
Your videos are yours
The songs you write in, the takes you film and the videos you export belong to you. They are stored on your device and we claim no rights in them.
The songs you cover
Most songs, lyrics and chord charts are protected by copyright. ChordCam is a tool for making your own performance; it does not give you any right to the songs you perform or the lyrics you type in. Before you publish a cover, make sure you may: platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram have their own rules and licences for covers. You are responsible for what you film, enter and share, and for not infringing anyone's rights or filming people without their consent.
Free version, watermark and ads
The app is free to download. The free version shows ads, as described in the privacy policy, and adds a small "Made with ChordCam" mark to exported videos. The free version and what Pro adds may change between versions, and some limits can change without an update, through settings the app fetches when it starts. A change never takes away Pro from someone who paid for it.
ChordCam Pro
- ChordCam Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes the ads and the mark on exported videos, for as long as the app is offered.
- It is sold and charged by Google Play or the Apple App Store, at the price the store shows you, under the store's terms. Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy; we cannot issue them ourselves.
- Use "Restore purchases" to get Pro back on a new phone with the same store account.
- Where offered, watching a rewarded ad gives Pro for a limited time shown in the app. When the time runs out, the app returns to the free version.
Fair use
Do not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, get around its purchases, ads or mark, or use it to break the law or anyone's rights.
No warranty
We build the app with care and keep it working, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". ChordCam is still being built: features may change or be removed, and we do not promise that it will always be available, free of bugs, or suited to a particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, flamedots is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of takes or videos stored in the app; save the ones that matter to Photos. Our total liability for anything to do with the app is limited to what you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Apple
If you got the app from the App Store, these terms are between you and flamedots, not Apple, and Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies. Apple has no duty to support or maintain the app, and is not responsible for claims about it.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; the new version is published here with a new date, and using the app after that means you accept it. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. If you break these terms, your licence to use the app ends.
